The National Debt is the cumulative net debt of Central Government excluding non-commercial state sponsored bodies. It also excludes the debt of local authorities and commercial state sponsored bodies.

 

It should be noted that the National Debt is calculated net of domestic and foreign liquid assets. The debt of the commercial state bodies is excluded from the National Debt.

 

 

 

 

The Finance Accounts for each year contains a detailed breakdown of the National Debt.
